Chief Priest Shree Srinivasacharyulu Mahendrada

He belongs to a family of Shree Vaishnavas, whose father, grandfather, and several members of the extended family served as priests at the Shree Venugopala Swamy Temple in the Shree Kurmam Temple complex, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Guruvu Garu, or Mama, or Pandit Ji—as he is known at HTCC—was home-schooled in Pancharatra Agama practices by his father and grandfather, as well as by other priests, while accompanying them on special occasions during his childhood. He was also trained on-site under the supervision of priests at various temples.

Apart from his knowledge of Vedic studies, Shree Srinivasacharyulu holds a Master’s degree in Telugu from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, and has successfully completed the Telugu Pandit examination from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. He has also completed a Master’s degree in Pancharatra Agamam (Vedic studies) from the Endowments Department of Andhra Pradesh and holds a Hindi Visharada degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad.

His deep knowledge of Sukthas, Upanishads, Vivaha Prakriya, and Homa Prakriya has made him a much sought-after priest at HTCC since 2007, when he joined as a priest. He has also passed the Hindi Visharada examination from Andhra Bhasha Sabha, Hyderabad.

Within a year of taking up his duties at HTCC, Shree Srinivasacharyulu played a key role in the installation of new idols at the temple. The Navagrahas, Lord Ayyappa, Lord Hanuman, Shree Ganapathi, and Lord Jagannath idols were installed in 2008 under his leadership and guidance.

Since joining HTCC, Shree Srinivasacharyulu has introduced many new pujas and kalyanams, including Shree Shiva Parvathi Kalyanam, Shree Goda Kalyanam, Shree Tulasi Kalyanam, and Shree Subramanya Swamy Kalyanam, to name a few. He also introduced Brahmotsavam, which HTCC now celebrates every year in May, coinciding with its annual celebrations.

We thank him and Smt. Padmavathi Garu for their dedication and valuable contributions to our temple.
